A Note From Me

Welcome to my notebook.

The Public Note is my notebook... opened for the public.

The idea actually goes back to high school. I shared a notebook with a couple of friends. My homegirl, Whitney, who I talked about life and serious things with. And my homeboy, Sean, who I shared poetry and talked about music with.

We passed our books back and forth whenever somebody had something to say. Sometimes it was serious. Sometimes it was a joke. Sometimes it was a completely random thought that probably could have stayed in our heads.

But we wrote it down anyway.

To us, those notebooks could have saved the world. Where the idea started

We used them to tell stories, question the world and life's choices, argue, laugh, complain, and make sense of whatever was happening around us.

Looking back, I realize I liked the freedom of it. There wasn't really a subject or a set of rules. You simply had something to say, so you wrote it down.

That's the feeling I wanted to bring here.

The only difference is that this time, the notebook is public.

And you, the public, can chime in.

So, What Exactly Is The Public Note?

This ain't meant to be a traditional blog where every post has to fit perfectly into a special category or trend.

I'll write about relationships, culture, current events, personal experiences, things happening in the world, things happening in my own life, and whatever else catches my attention.

Some posts will be thoughtful. Some will be personal. Some will probably make you laugh. And every now and then, I might say something that changes your mind about something.

That's really the point.

Say what's on your mind. Make room for somebody else's perspective. Keep the conversation moving.

The Notes

From love and life to people, culture, and the occasional random thought... there's a little something for every kind of day.

Love Notes	Relationships, dating, romance, heartbreak, intimacy, and all the beautiful, complicated nonsense that comes with loving people.
Life Notes	Personal stories, experiences, lessons, observations, growth, and the everyday things that make up a life.
Culture Notes	Culture, entertainment, trends, current events, social conversations, and the things happening around us.
People Notes	Perspectives, experiences, personalities, and the different ways people see and move through the world.
Side Notes	Everything that doesn't need its own category. Random thoughts, observations, little stories, and whatever happens to be on my mind.

Before You Go

This is my space to write, think out loud, tell stories, share opinions, and occasionally figure things out as I go.

You don't have to agree with everything you read here. I actually like a lil' opposition.

So if something makes you think, laugh, question something, or remember a story of your own, that's enough reason to join the conversation.
